The Goa Staff Selection Commission has put out Advertisement No. 2 of Year 2026 to let people know about the Goa SSC Recruitment for Group 'C' jobs. Candidates who meet the requirements can apply online for the jobs listed in the notification at https://gssc.goa.gov.in. The applications must be turned in by 13/03/2026. The selection process consists of a Computer Based Test (CBT), a Physical Endurance Test (PET) when necessary, and other stages as outlined.
The job openings listed include Range Forest Officer, Police Constable (Male/Female), Police Constable (Armed Police), Police Constable Driver (Grade-III), Round Forester, Forest Guard, and other Group "C" positions in different departments. Educational qualifications, physical standards, pay levels, and age limits are prescribed separately for each post. There are 13 Range Forest Officer positions open for the Forest Officer job. There are 360 positions open for men and women to apply for the Police Constable job. As stated in the notification, there are 119 posts for Police Constable (Armed Police) and 111 posts for Police Constable Driver (Grade-III).
For the Range Forest Officer job, the minimum requirement is a Bachelor's Degree in Science from a recognized university with at least two of the required subjects. Male candidates must be at least 163 cm tall, and female candidates must be at least 150 cm tall. Male candidates must also have their chest measured, and female candidates must walk 25 km in 4 hours and 16 km in 4 hours. It is necessary to know Konkani and it is helpful to know Marathi. The age limit is 45 years, but it can be relaxed for government workers by up to five years, as the government says from time to time.
To be a Police Constable (Male or Female), you need to have passed the Secondary School Certificate Examination from a recognized Board or an equivalent qualification. There are different physical standards for general and Ex-Servicemen categories. For example, male candidates must be at least a certain height and have a certain chest measurement, while female candidates must meet a certain weight requirement. There are also different physical efficiency test parameters for each category, such as a 100-meter run, long jump, high jump, and 800-meter/400-meter run. It is necessary to know Konkani and it is helpful to know Marathi. The age limit is 28 years, but there are some exceptions, as explained in the notification.
The process of choosing includes a Computer Based Test (CBT). CBT I is done to narrow down the list of candidates.
After CBT I, candidates will be chosen for the Physical Endurance Test (PET). The PET is a qualifying test and does not give out grades. Candidates who pass PET will be put on a shortlist for CBT II based on the ratio of shortlisted candidates to posts. The final merit is based on CBT II marks, but only if the conditions in the notification are met.
To determine merit, you must pass the Konkani language test. Negative marking does not apply to the Computer Based Test.
The notification says that the exam will be a Two Tier CBT.

10 points for the Reasoning Test
Numerical Ability Test – 10 points
Test of the Konkani Language: 10 Points
30 points for the English and Comprehension test

CBT II:
Includes a Test of Reasoning, a Test of Numerical Ability, a Test of English Language and Comprehension, and a Subject-Specific Test or a General History Test.The geography of Goa changes depending on the post. The notification says how many marks and how much time are needed for each post.
The pay for the jobs is as follows:
Level 6: Officer in the Range Forest
Level 4: Male Platoon Commander
Level 3: Round Forester
Level 2: Police Constable job types include Police Constable (Armed Police), Police Constable Driver (Grade-III), Forest Guard, Constable (Greaser), Constable (Electrician), and Assistant Superintendent (Male).
Level 1: Warden (male), Matron (female), Lascar (male), and Escort (female).

Based on the marks received in the CBT exam, the Commission will make a shortlist of candidates based on merit. Only for shortlisting/screening will CBT be used.
Candidates from reserved categories are allowed to be older than the age limit. The last day to apply will be the cut-off date for deciding who meets the requirements for educational qualifications, age limit, experience, and any other documents.
